Spring Training 5K 2024

Description

Join the Emerging Leaders Council for BOMA Spring Training on a 5K fun walk/run on the Luce Line Trail in Plymouth. Afterward, cool down with your fellow athletes at Luce Line Brewery.

Charity Partner: What is VEAP?  VEAP stands for Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People. Since 1973, VEAP has provided a range of programs to help low-income individuals and families meet their immediate needs and move toward stability. Today VEAP operates one of the largest food pantries in the state of Minnesota.  What Items are needed Most Right Now? Whole grain rice (1-2 pound bags) Whole grain pasta Hearty soups (high protein, low sodium) Whole grain cereal (like Shredded Wheat, Kashi, bran cereals, Chex, etc.) Canned proteins (meat and beans) Canned fruit and vegetables Toilet paper Paper towels Diapers (size 5-7) and baby wipes Cooking oil Coffee Baking essentials (flour, sugar, spices, baking soda/powder) Laundry detergent Dish soap Personal care items (shampoo, toothpaste, hand soap, shaving cream, toiletries, etc.) Gluten-free products (whole grains like brown rice, wild rice, quinoa, cornmeal; nut flour and butter; rice crackers, GF snacks, etc. Check for gluten-free product label.) Birthday candles, cake frosting, birthday-themed napkins/plates, cake mix, and small birthday party favors like chalk, bubbles, or bags of balloons. Dog and cat food (particularly wet food, treats, litter, etc.) Paper bags and reusable, cloth totes (We’ll always take your extra paper grocery bags. We are not accepting plastic bags or totes donations).   

- Are You Looking to Win the 5K? Every item you bring to donate will subtract 1 second from your final time. 

- Do you want to add time to someone who is faster than you?  Make a monetary donation; every dollar adds one second to someone else's final time. 

- All donations must be accounted for before the race begins to qualify.
