2026 Engineers April Session: Elevated Insights: Drone Technology in Building Inspections
Wednesday, April 1, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
Transform your inspection workflow by leveraging the power of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This session explores the practical applications of visual, thermal, and LiDAR drones.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to select the right sensor for the job—whether identifying structural fatigue via high-resolution imagery, detecting moisture intrusion and energy loss with thermal thermography, or generating precision 3D models using LiDAR. You will see a few types of drones (pending availability) to illustrate how size and payload capacity impact mission success.
The session concludes with an interactive Q&A to address specific site challenges and regulatory considerations.
